Yes- I did take the good ol trusted Challenger 3off from this spot. Reason being: if you want to seriously compete - or just want a rang that goes as far as "distance as they come" - than this is definitely the model to have. It is lighter, smaller, easier to throw than the big Challenger- and, if you have the power, the grip and the tuning right- this little guy can give you flights of distances way beyond 160 meters. I have thrown my own model past the 200 mark last Fall....
One of my newer hook designs. A low and sleek flying 60 meter hook for calm conditions. Easy throw, a very beautiful elliptical flight path, very accurate and dead easy to catch.
This is my expressed favorite for easy long distance!! It goes well over 100 meters (add weight for 120 meters even), will not wear you out PLUS it's extremely accurate, can handle lots of wind AND will catch easily! You will not believe the beauty of this long and high flight- For your very best friends only....
Variations of this model are countless. The "father"/inspiration of this buddy is Eric Darnell's "Wishbone" - one of my early without-a-doubt-favourite-rangs! I altered the angle and the wingratio, fiddles with loads of materials and - hic est. The Windeater III ist still the ONE AND ONLY boomerang I take wherever I travel, because this is probably the one I have that works under almost every condition, if you alter the tuning/weighting. So, for you people out there, who just want a plain great boomerang and who are not after competition, but still want a rang that is easy and yet dead accurate and super easy to catch - and if you are planning to just get ONE boom: get this one. You'll love it ... or else boomerangs are not for you. Product description.
Another design I loaned from Eric Darnell - in my view still the best and most advanced maker ever - and altered size, wing ratio and materials around, till these came out: 2 variations in paxolin (what else...), on in 3 and one in 4mm thickness. The charme of these guys is that they pretty much behave like a "normal" boomerang. A wooden one that is. Only: they have longer range, are extremely accurate and very nice and easy to catch. Beginners may be interested in the plywood model! Product sheet here.
This little one has evolved from the Straight Shooter design - which is the easiert of my models to start learning long distance throwing with. So, this one being even smaller and lighter, is a pure pleasure to flick effortlessly in calm winds on a late summer afternoon. Beautiful teardrop shaped flight path and dead accurate.
