Getting ready for competition

Michael "Gel" Girvin, die-hard competitor and preacher of boom-fun has generously shared his personal tips on tuning for each event.

You are standing on your throwing field. It is a perfect late afternoon. You take in all of the moment. The air, the noises, the smell, the changing winds. You are getting ready to throw. You know exactly what you have to do in order to get that complete, perfect return. You are concentrated. And you look forward to what will be happening. You see it happening. It happens.
If you want to add some extras: try breathing deeply. Into your belly area. The more you take in of the moment, the more present you will are. The more present you are, the more relaxed you will be and hence the better your throwing will be. Perfect. Here is where you can meet the Zen spirit. Just breathe. Just be. It sounds so simple and yet - as we all know - it is one of the hardest things in the world.
As the poet would put it - this would be the samurai's approach to boomeranging - (and to pretty much all aspects of life. Think about it. If you have a second..)
"IT
IS ETERNITY NOW. I AM IN THE
MIDST OF IT. IT IS ABOUT ME IN THE
SUNSHINE. I AM IN IT, AS THE BUTTER-
FLY IN THE LIGHT-LADEN AIR. NOTHING
HAS TO COME. IT IS NOW. NOW IS ETER-
NITY. NOW IS THE IMMORTAL LIFE."
